Before I leave, 5/29/17
Its been official for some time now, but I wanted to let everyone know that an incredible opportunity has presented itself for me to go to Jamaica and live in the Jamaica Deaf Village. During college, I was blessed to go on two mission trips to Jamaica during my spring break and loved every minute of my experiences. Following my last mission trip, I stayed in contact with the people I met down there and found out about this opportunity to come and be a s hort-term missionary. I have jumped at the chance to be able to work with the deaf and I am so excited to have this once in a lifetime experience. To prepare myself, I have been taking two different sign language classes to improve my ability to communicate with the locals. I am also interning at JBS Mental Health Authority in their Deaf Services department until I depart May 30th. To follow my journey, here is my blog.
